John-Barrowman.org was originally thought of at the end of December 2007, after seeing John appearing in numerous TV shows over the festive period.
The site owner had always been a bit of a fan, particularly enjoying his role of Captain Jack Harkness. John first caught my eye in the
Christopher Eccleston Doctor Who - Series 1. Captain Jack was a fun character, and I was pleased to see the character developed in Torchwood.
I first became aware of John's musical background through Any Dream Will Do, having tuned in and being surprised to see John on it. (I didn't
watch How do you solve a problem like Maria?). Music was downloaded, and instantly loved. I also recently bought John's new album too.
When surfing the net, although I found John's official site rather informative (more so than usual
for an official site!) and a good source of news, there were no fansites to be found. So I checked out what John domain names were available, and registered
http://www.john-barrowman.org/.
I had no hosting for the site at this point, so I turned to Gertie @ The Fan-Sites Network, where my
John Simm site is hosted. I thought it was a bit of a long shot, considering
I had no site to show yet, but luckily Gertie accepted my hosting application. So John-Barrowman.org was born!
